Is this name plate suitable for outdoor use, rain and direct sunlight?
Acrylic, mirror acrylic, ACP and HPL plates are made for exterior use — UV-stable, rust-free and unaffected by rain. Brushed ABS and wooden-finish plates are intended for doors, lobbies, porches and other covered positions, and should not be fitted where rain falls directly on them. Check the material listed in the specifications above.
How is it fixed on an exterior wall or gate?
Exterior plates are mounted on stainless-steel spacer studs, which hold the plate slightly off the wall so water drains behind it instead of sitting against the surface. Where possible we recommend a position with some shade — under a porch, portico or roof overhang — for the longest life.

Pre-applied 3M tape is intended for clean, smooth, dry and dust-free surfaces; rough, damp, powdery or highly textured surfaces may need another fixing method. Heavy or exterior installations may require screws, spacers or professional fitting.
