Also known as mugappuIn Kerala and Tamil Nadu this panel is called mugappu — also spelt mughappu, mukhappu or mukappu. It is the decorative triangular screen fitted across the gable face at the roof apex, and it is normally paired with a thoomanam roof border running along the eaves. We cut every mugappu design as a single piece, so no joint runs across the face of the panel.
